How to activate your Avast licence key

Avast subscriptions are activated inside the installed Avast app with your activation code.

Before you start

Uninstall other antivirus software first.
Download the Avast product you bought (for example Avast Premium Security or Avast Ultimate) from the official Avast website (avast.com).

Install Avast
Download and install the matching Avast product from avast.com.

Open the menu
Open Avast and go to ☰ Menu → “My subscriptions” (or “Enter activation code”).

Enter your code
Type or paste your activation code exactly as shown, including the dashes, and confirm.

Repeat on other devices
For multi-device plans, install Avast on each device and enter the same activation code.

Troubleshooting

“Invalid activation code”

Make sure the installed product matches your key – an Avast Ultimate code needs Avast Premium Security plus the other Ultimate apps installed.

Code already used on too many devices

Remove old devices from your Avast Account, or contact us with your order number.
