How to activate your Autodesk software

Autodesk software is installed from your Autodesk account and activated by signing in, or with a serial number and product key depending on the licence type.

Before you start

  • Check that your PC meets the system requirements for the product and version you bought.
  • Use the same Autodesk account email that the licence is assigned to, if your order includes one.

    Sign in to your Autodesk account

    Go to manage.autodesk.com and sign in, or create a free Autodesk account.

    Download the product

    Under Products and Services, download the exact product and version from your order (for example AutoCAD 2024).

    Install

    Run the installer and follow the steps. Restart the computer if asked.

    Activate

    Start the software. Choose “Sign in with your Autodesk ID” for account-based licences, or “Enter a serial number” and type the serial number and product key from your order.

Troubleshooting

“Invalid serial number”

Make sure the installed version (for example 2024) matches your licence. A serial number for one product or year does not activate another.

Activation needs internet

Online activation is the fastest way. If your PC is offline, choose “Request an activation code using an offline method” and contact us.
